Our 4th Whirlpool washer in 16 years needed replacing (extended warranties). At the 1st month, to the exact date, of delivery, we had the repairman here to investigate the following details: spin cycles were very loud, shaking unit, and still wet at the end of the wash. He didn't do much, but he did say that blankets and bathmats should not be washed in this machine (hadn't done that yet), and not to use a full load. Wow. This means I can't really use the washer properly. True, it is quieter on a "medium" load. It is still very noisy on a small load. The clothes still don't come out damp, like all the previous washers. I now have to do laundry more often, and, as the repairman suggested, take my blankets/bath mats to a commercial laundrymat. So why did |I buy a new washer???

I am writing to warn anyone who is considering on purchasing a product from this company. Let me tell you my story I bought a Washer 5 weeks ago. It broke already I then waited 6 days for my service call. On the day of the call I was notified that their call center employee did not take down my correct address. The appointment was booked on Monday and I received a call on Friday the day of the scheduled service call. I asked why I was not notified earlier in the week and they said they did not have an answer for me. They issued me a $150 dollar check due to their incompetence. I still had to miss another day of work however since I booked Friday off to be home. On Monday the Technician comes in and finds out that the part needed to fix it will now need to be ordered. I get a call the next day and he says that the part in NO WHERE IN NORTH AMERICA. I now am required to wait 10 business days just to see if they can track down the part to my BRAND NEW machine in Europe or Asia. Then if they have the part I have to wait until it is shipped. Did I mention this machine is 5 weeks old? I will now be without a washer for 5 weeks and no one at Whirlpool cares or is willing to stand by their product. In all my life I have never dealt with a company who legit doesn't care about a proper resolution. I will miss 3 days of work countless hours calling in to get it fixed and oh ya I have to go to the Laundromat to do my Laundry. You have been warned proceed at your own discretion. Oh and here is the best part if they don't have the part after 10 days worldwide I get a new Machine. But I just have to be without a machine for 3 weeks so they can save a few dollars

The builder of my new condo chose this machine. It works well. I would like it more if there was a loud sound that was audible when the wash was finished. I understand that I have to leave the door open to avoid the drum getting an odor. I do like all the choices of cycles.

This unit came along with my new condo purchase. The chime it plays is charming and not overly annoying to hear repeatedly over time. The space is full size and easily does a weeks worth of laundry for 2 individuals. Some improvements would have been the ability to decide which way the door opens and a way to indicate if we overloaded the washer with too many clothes or two little. A weight indicator would be nice.

I bought this washing machine in June this year after my Whirlpool duet needed high cost repair. I am sorry I did not go ahead with the repair. The new washer gets off balanced even if I placed the clothes evenly in the tub. When it gets to the last spin and says one minute remaining, it has continued to spin up to 30 minutes which has been rough on my clothes. I have had to stop it manually. This has happened several times! I have had the repair person out twice. The control board was replaced and the washing machine balanced. Since then, The long spin cycle has occurred several times so the control board was not the answer. It is extremely loud especially on spin. My Duet was not. I have used Whirlpool appliances for many years and this is the first time I have been disappointed.

I called in customer service to ask to change the position of my washer door. I needed it changed because every time I open it, my right hand bangs on the hinge of my washer/dryer room door. I have expressed concerns that I have been bruising my hand. However, I was advised that they won't be able to change the position. I have bought a washer a year ago and the installers gave me an option to where I wanted the door placed. I wish customer service would provide me the same solution because opening this washer is now affecting my own body.

I purchased this washer and the matching dryer 6 months ago. Repair people have been here 3 times. The motherboard and wiring harness of the washer blew out after one month. Took a month to fix because repair people could not diagnose the problem. After that the dryer stopped working. The drum fell off the rollers. After 3 months of use. I complain to Whirlpool, I complain to Lowe's but they don't care. Sure the CEO's are playing golf laughing it up as to what suckers we are. Won't ever buy Whirlpool again, or appliances from Lowe's.

Damaged my dresses....

I thought it will be a very good new washing machine I dreamed all my life about. Did like the simple, clean style and simplicity of features, liked the capacity is not too large. Wanted to love it for years. The machine worked well until I washed a couple of my dresses. Those were machine washable and I did wash them in my old top load whirlpool without concerns. Turned the garments inside out and used Cold, Delicate and Wrinkle control settings. Look what I have received back after the washing cycle... The garment lining is completely damaged with numerous pulls... I were in tears. It has been just a couple of weeks since I purchased the machine and the store will send the replacement. However, at this point I am concerned if I can trust the brand for a long term. With my hand I feel some of the opening inside the washing drum have rough edges, I assume it is the reason of the pulls during garment washing. it is not acceptable nor for a $900 appliance, nor for a Whirlpool as a reputable brand. Is it typical for Whirlpool and it is not designed to wash delicates or business clothes? Please let me know, I have to go with another brand then. LG has a very smooth drum surface for example. After only one week of use we really like this washer. We got the pedestal to raise its height. We are very pleased with how quiet it is even when spinning at highest speed.

I have had this washer for about six weeks. It is quiet and washes the clothes well. I like the countdown feature that allows you to add last minute items that you may have forgotten.

I have to admit I liked my Whirlpool DUET team better. I find that the control pad is so sensitive and I find that with the options they have for washing it is very limited when it comes to a standard load. I mean if you could just adjust the time on a standard load.

Great Replacement

This is replacement through American Home Shield and we had a rough start. Initially it stayed in the wash mode for hours. Once the service technician came out and explained how this model was different from my original one and shared some operational points it's been working just fine. I trust the Whirlpool brand and I'm looking forward to years of stress free washing.

Love the front load washer
